π Tender Overview
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is working to create the conditions to establish an integrated network of transport, information and meteorological services, with the aim of promoting economic growth and improving the quality of life of the region's citizens.
The initiative, which falls within the scope of the SADC Protocol on Transport, Communications and Meteorology, will be analysed at the meeting of ministers from the above-mentioned sectors, to be held next Friday in Harare, Zimbabwe. At this meeting, the ministers will deliberate on strategic policy documents for the creation of the aforementioned integrated network.
According to SADC, the agenda of the meeting, in which Angola will be represented by the Secretary of State for Land Transport, Jorge Bengue, will focus on the review of policies and regulatory structures and the status of implementation of programs within these respective sectors.
SADC informs that ministers should also analyse the implementation of decisions and progress achieved since the last sectoral meeting, held in June 2023, as well as the implementation of decisions of the Summit of Heads of State of the regional bloc and its Council of Ministers.
Furthermore, the meeting is expected to receive progress reports on programmes and activities aligned with the SADC Regional Strategic Indicative Development Plan (RISDP 2020-2030), the Short Term Action Plan (STAP) II, as well as the SADC Regional Infrastructure Development Master Plan (RIDMP 2012-2027).
According to a source from Jornal de Angola in Harare, preparatory meetings have been taking place since yesterday, with the presence of Angolan technicians.
