๐Ÿ“‹ Tender Overview

The scientific and technological system continues to work to help society in the fight against SARS-CoV-2. A research team developed a chinstrap with a filtering capacity of 97.After several months of work scientists from CONICET the University of Buenos Aires UBA and the National University of San Martn UNSAM with the support of the textile SME Kovi SRL launch a new ATOM PROTECT N95 PLUS chinstrap FFP2 with a filtering capacity for powders and droplets of more than 97.These chinstraps which exceed the original model in filtering capacity contain four layers of protection a semi-waterproofing outer layer that slows down the entry of microdrops a second layer of polyester cotton woven fabric with the same antiviral actives as the first chinstrap model a third physical non-woven fabric filter with a filter capacity certified by Nelson Labs a leading provider of laboratory tests located in the United States of 97.1 for powders from 0.1 m micrometers and the 99.9 for aqueous sodium chloride aerosols this last measurement performed by the developer team and finally a layer of woven cotton polyester fabric with the same bactericidal and fungicidal actives as the original Atom Protect model. In the middle of last year the research team developed two products one antiviral bactericidal and fungicidal and the other bactericidal to be applied on polyester cotton fabrics to manufacture Atom Protect version 1 chinstraps for social use . These fabrics are designed to prevent the spread of disease by the wearer but are also used to protect the wearer from splashes or sprays of blood or body fluids. In this way the chinstraps made with these fabrics prevent the accumulation of viruses bacteria or fungi generated by the respiratory exhalation of the user and the one received from the outside. They are also able to inactivate viruses on the chinstrap surface and reduce the viral load sent received to from the environment. We believe that we are responding to the challenges posed by this pandemic by echoing the new international requirements regarding personal protection elements says the developer group made up of Silvia Goyanes Roberto Candal Griselda Polla Ana Maria Llois CONICET-UBA-UNSAM.It should be noted that Nelson Labs certified that the bacteria filtration efficiency of the built-in filter is 95.9. In addition this filter has undergone tests of resistance to the penetration of synthetic blood achieving zero penetration and it has been verified that it complies with the differential pressure standards that guarantee the breathability of the product. Therefore unlike the original version the N95 PLUS chinstraps present an additional physical filter made of non-woven fabric that increases the filtering capacity against dust and droplets in accordance with the latest international indications regarding protection against SARS-CoV-2. Additionally it presents a malleable nasal adjustment device to improve closure explains the working group. In sum the new Atom Protect N95 PLUS mask model has a filtration efficiency against aqueous aerosols of 99.9 compared to 70 of the previous model. It should be noted on the other hand that the N95 PLUS chinstrap obtained the certification granted by the European Economic Community RG01SECM rev. 3 FFP2.The working group led by Silvia Goyanes Roberto Candal Griselda Polla and Ana Mara Llois also includes researchers researchers fellows and fellows from IFIBA-DF-UBA IIIA-UNSAM ANPCyT and CONICET.We feel great satisfaction because this project helped to protect the population and contributed to raising awareness about the use of chinstraps in this pandemic. It also helped the scientific-technological system to reach society en masse. We live this as a virtuous example of collaboration between different state institutions and a company which quickly managed to realize a necessary product in the framework of the pandemic. We consider that this development constitutes an example for other SMEs to trust our scientific-technological system to generate innovative products the team agrees. After an intense year of work this team does not rest they are currently working on the development of masks for medical use in which two different technologies are used that will allow obtaining products with the possibility of rapid transfer to the productive sector for local supply and export they say.The development was carried out by scientists and scientists of the CONICET the University of Buenos Aires UBA and the National University of San Martin UNSAM with the support of the SME textile Kovi SRL Of course he had the indispensable collaboration from the transfer area of CONICET UBA and UNSAM maintaining a permanent dialogue between all parties and strengthening the State-Company link conclude the researchers from the developer group.
