Austria Unido Protects Tender

LI Yong Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization UNIDO and Ziad Hamzah Abu Ghararah Secretary-General of the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden PERSGA today signed a joint declaration to bolster their longstanding cooperation to promote sustainable development and economic growth in the region.Through their cooperation UNIDO and PERSGA have successfully helped reduce the unintentional releases of persistent organic pollutants POPs in the coastal zones of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. More recently they have worked together on the ongoing regional programme for inclusive and sustainable industrial development of the marine agro-industrial sector and the protection of the marine livelihood and resources in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.Through this new cooperation agreement both organizations renewed their commitment to consolidate the strategic partnership to increase employment opportunities and income generation support for sustainable livelihoods in the coastal zones of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden by among others promoting renewable energies energy efficiency environmental protection and marine pollution reduction.During the signing ceremony both leaders also reaffirmed their intention to enhance cooperation to pursue inclusive and sustainable industrial development through the application of sustainable city principles under development in the ongoing joint regional programme in the region.
