๐ Tender Overview
Doctors from CHOCCO&YAM successfully performed a complex operation on a 63-year-old patient.A tumor with a diameter of up to 14 cm has grown from the neck deep into the chest - this situation is extremely rare, and without the use of combined surgical tactics it would be impossible to remove the tumor.

To remove the tumor, thoracic and ENT oncologists, based on the results of the consultation, combined two modern minimally invasive surgical approaches in one operation.
Thoracoscopic approach through the intercostal space for mobilization and removal of tumor from the chest.Transcervical access to the thyroid gland through an incision in the neck - it made it possible to push the formation away from the large vessels of the neck and esophagus.
The operation lasted approximately three hours.Histological examination of the tumor confirmed the diagnosis - nodular nontoxic goiter.
This is a benign neoplasm: it often grows slowly, and the space in the mediastinum, as doctors explain, allows the tumor to reach significant sizes without pronounced symptoms. Therefore, patients often seek help only after complaints of coughing, choking and difficulty passing food due to compression of surrounding organs.
The patient recovered and was discharged home.
