Dredging works begin in the José Carbajal "El Sabalero" Yacht Port of Juan Lacaze

The National Hydrography Directorate is carrying out maintenance dredging works in the José Carbajal "El Sabalero" Yacht Port, in Juan Lacaze, with the aim of increasing the mooring capacity and improving the operations of the port infrastructure.
This is the first maintenance dredging carried out by the National Hydrography Directorate in ports since 2012, an intervention that will allow the recovery of navigability conditions and optimize the use of port infrastructure.
The work will consist of dredging the water body located between the breakwaters, eliminating the shallow areas that currently limit the port's capacity. Once the intervention is completed, the depth will reach -1.80 meters referred to zero on the port's tide scale.
Representatives of the winning company, ASTUL S.A., visited the port to inspect the work area and define the installation of the equipment. Currently, the company is moving the machinery and materials necessary to start the works.
The planned investment amounts to $6,500,000 and the estimated execution period is approximately 90 business days, subject to operating conditions and unforeseen events.
This intervention will optimize navigation and mooring conditions, strengthening the port infrastructure of Juan Lacaze and providing better conditions for vessels and their users.
