President Shavkat Mirziyoyev came from Tashkent to Bekobad by electric train.
On the basis of the decision of the head of our state, adopted on December 27, 2025, On measures to increase the indicators of passenger transport in local routes by 2030, the transport infrastructure in the regions is being renewed and local services are being expanded. As a result, convenient and high-quality transport services are being established for the population.
At the Bekobad train station, the President was informed about the works carried out on the route connecting the capital and this city.
The 192-kilometer Tashkent-Bekabad railway line is planned to serve nearly 1,000 passengers per day and 300,000 passengers per year. Now, it has a six-car, 586-passenger electric train moving at a speed of up to 120 kilometers per hour. This will provide additional convenience, especially for citizens who go to work and study every day.
All the necessary conditions have been created for passengers on the electric train. In particular, special elevators are installed for persons with disabilities. The carriages are equipped with air conditioning and heating systems, soft seats, USB charging points and Wi-Fi. There are also video surveillance systems, electronic information boards and special places for bicycles.
The introduction of a high-speed electric train will reduce the traffic load on highways and increase the share of environmentally friendly transport.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued relevant orders to the officials regarding further development of railway infrastructure, improvement of conditions for passengers, electrification of networks and improvement of areas adjacent to railways.
Also, the head of state paid special attention to the issues of railway station infrastructure, quality of service and efficient organization of passenger movement.
