Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry Alexander Pulev participated in a meeting of Prime Minister Rumen Radev with representatives of Google.The possibilities for attracting investments and implementing joint projects in the field of high technologies were discussed there.The Minister of Innovation and Digital Transformation Ivan Vasilev also took part in the meeting.Among the main topics of the talks were digitization, the competitiveness of the economy, cyber security and opportunities for cooperation in the space industry.During the meeting, it became clear that Google is providing a new donation of 1 million dollars to the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technologies (INSAIT) at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.The funds will support the expansion of scientific research and the development of a new generation of artificial intelligence models.Support will be directed to priority areas such as artificial intelligence for science and mathematics, robotics, Earth observation and technological sovereignty.The donation includes direct funding and Google Cloud credits providing access to high-performance computing infrastructure.Google has supported INSAIT since its inception in 2022. With the new donation, the companys total support for the institute exceeds 7 million.The partnership creates opportunities for developing Bulgarias scientific potential, promoting innovation and retaining young and talented specialists in the country.
