On June 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the national leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Peoples Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
At the beginning of the conversation, he sincerely congratulated the head of our country, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on his birthday, wished him good health, family happiness, and peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan.
In his turn, the Chairman of the Peoples Council conveyed the greetings of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to the leader of Uzbekistan.
The parties highly appreciated the current state of strategic partnership. Close and effective relations are maintained at all levels. The volume of trade is growing steadily, cooperation projects are being implemented in industry, energy, transport and other priority sectors. Shavot-Toshovuz trade zone is operating efficiently.
Interregional, business and cultural-humanitarian exchanges are expanding.
The results of the meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council held recently in Ashgabat were highly appreciated.
Special attention was paid to the coordination and promotion of the regional agenda within the framework of preparations for the eighth Consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, which will be held in Turkmenistan in October this year.
