The Australian Government has announced grant funding will be available from 2027-28 to bring international CAR-T clinical trials to Australia for children and young people. Funding is from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). Date published: 21 September 2026 Audience: General public This is the first investment under the MRFFs , which aims to coordinate research into cancers nationally. It will help bring world-class CAR-T clinical trial capability closer to home, reducing the need for families to travel overseas. We forecast the grant opportunity will open in June 2027.
