Minister of Education Culture and Research Monica Babuc paid a working visit to Ialoveni today 29 November where she met with about 90 teachers and managers of general education institutions. During the discussions were discussed topics related to the activity of schools and kindergartens in the locality making the education system more efficient continuous teacher education salary level attracting young specialists etc.At the beginning of the meeting Minister Monica Babuc mentioned that the reforms initiated by the Ministry of Education Culture and Research MECC are meant to facilitate the work of teachers to improve their working conditions and to restore the prestige of this noble profession. In this context the official reviewed the main actions taken by the MECC in the academic year 2017-2018 including evaluation of the school network reform for 2010-2017 de-bureaucratization of the reporting process in general education reconceptualizing and developing the national curriculum the allocation of the working time of the teaching staff in the general education institutions free of charge for continuous training about 14 thousand beneficiaries reducing the teaching standard for young teachers in public general education institutions organizing professional retraining courses for 420 teachers increasing the single allowance for supporting young teachers granting the annual financial compensation of 2000 lei for the purchase of teaching aids etc. At the same time the Minister also talked about the salaries of teachers which is a Government priority and has already taken concrete actions in this regard. Thus as of 1 December pedagogues and auxiliary staff in educational institutions will benefit from wage increases. increasing the single allowance for supporting young teachers granting the annual financial compensation of 2000 lei for the purchase of teaching aids etc. At the same time the Minister also talked about the salaries of teachers which is a Government priority and has already taken concrete actions in this regard. The themes were wide and varied which highlighted a number of common problems for other localities in the country such as the financing of educational institutions the feeding of children in schools and kindergartens the insufficiency of teachers modernizing educational institutions and optimizing them etc.Finally Monica Babuc assured that the MECC will continue to make every effort to solve the problems in the field in agreement with teachers and local public authorities.
