Moldova Republic Supports Tender

Multilevel bilateral contacts between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America as well as US support for our country to benefit from a new Millennium Challenge Corporation MCC program was discussed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European integration Nicu Popescu with the US ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Dereck J. Hogan.During the meeting Minister Nicu Popescu reiterated the importance of cooperation with the American agency MCC noting that the Republic of Moldova has not been able to benefit so far from a new financial program from the Millennium Challenge Corporation due to the corruption that has become increasingly present . In his turn Ambassador Hogan gave assurances of all his support for our country to benefit from a new program of this corporation but that one of the essential preconditions is to intensify with all the power to fight corruption in the Republic of Moldova.Also the speakers discussed the bilateral contacts that will take place at several levels between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America in the near future. Remember the Millennium Challenge Corporation MCC is an independent and innovative external assistance agency of the US Government. To date MCC has funded assistance programs in areas such as agriculture and irrigation transport roads bridges ports providing drinking water and sewage access to healthcare finance and business development anti-corruption initiatives access to education etc.
