π Tender Overview
The Government of Australia and the World Health Organization WHO today handed over high-capacity laboratory equipment to determine the genome sequence of the virus in Mongolia. The laboratory is important for the detection of new strains of SARS-CoV-2 virus. In other words there is no need to waste time sending samples to foreign countries to detect mutated variants.Since the first domestic coronavirus infection was registered in Mongolia more than four million tests have been performed at the NCCDs laboratory and other affiliated laboratories. Once the infection was registered NCCD experts said that molecular epidemiological evidence and viral gene sequencing tests were needed to identify the source of the infection and stop its spread.S.Amarsaikhan Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia said We would like to thank the Government of Australia and the World Health Organization for their support during this time. We look forward to continuing our partnership. I am confident that many lives and health will be saved. The Minister of Health S.Enkhbold said that the high-tech NGS laboratory will not only help diagnose and monitor infectious diseases but also diagnose non-communicable diseases.
