Technical personnel are of great importance for the future of North Holland. An interview series about training collaboration and job guarantees.More and well-trained technical personnel is crucial to strengthen the North Holland economy. The province helps with advice and money for Techlands. This is a collaboration between Noord-Holland municipalities in Zaanstreek-Waterland educators and technical companies. Goal to train more people in technology to adapt education to the rapidly changing needs of companies and to reduce the staff shortage in the sector. This series highlights the collaborations and challenges within Techlands. In part 2 business. Bunge is one of the companies in North Holland that is struggling to find technical personnel. The Amsterdam multinational processes soybeans into soy flour and oil. We have a great need for professionals in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering says production supervisor Ronald Deeterink. Especially the latter group is hard to find. We have to fish in an overfished pond where companies are bidding against each other. Keeping people in is never a problem for us because many colleagues work here for a very long time myself now 42 years. But getting people in is really a different story.
