This week Comol5 installed the first tunnel technical installations TTI in the service building of the Corbulotunnel in Leiden. This concerns 54 different installations that ensure a safe tunnel such as the lighting cameras emergency telephones and the fire alarm system. The installations built up in a total of 24 modules containers have been set up and extensively tested at the test location in Eindhoven over the past two years. Especially for transport from Eindhoven to Leiden the modules are packed dust and watertight and they are lifted into the service building according to a fixed pattern.TeethingBy building the tunnel technical installations in a modular way in advance teething problems have already been eliminated at the test location which saves a lot of time later on. With this modular method the test activities in the tunnel are considerably limited to mainly physical tests which can actually only take place in the tunnel.Benjamin Mooijaart VTTI Comol5 project manager is proud of this special milestone A requirement from the client was that all TTIs had to be tested 2 years before opening. Our 2015 strategy of bringing systems tested to the tunnel for 2 years has been successful. We assessed everything on paper and tested it in Eindhoven and now it is reality .Furnishing service buildings16 of the 26 modules are currently being placed in the service building on the east side near the A4. The other ten modules will go to the service building on the west side in the summer near the A44. The modules are lifted from the trucks into the service building to the ground floor and the -1 level. This has to be done in a certain order. Fireproof walls are also placed in between. When everything is in there the roof can be put on.
