UGEL Chucuitos technological innovation project develops students digital skillsIntegrate advanced technology into the curriculum to promote computational thinking and the design of robotic devices.
The Robolab technological innovation laboratories (LIT), promoted since 2023 by the Chucuito Educational Management Unit (UGEL) in Puno, are an avant-garde proposal that has been replicated in the region and has now transcended borders by capturing the attention of teachers and students in Bolivia.
The director of the Chucuito UGEL, Jose Vizcarra Fajardo, points out that the Desaguadero District Education Directorate, in Bolivia, sent a delegation to the laboratory to explore the possibility of adapting this approach in its schools.
This innovative specialized project has the main objective of improving student learning by integrating advanced technology into the educational curriculum to generate computational thinking and strengthen the design of robotic devices.
The laboratories are equipped with various robotics kits that serve to develop digital skills in schoolchildren, improve programming skills, and use pedagogical methods based on games and interactive projects that can be easily replicated.
This project, which won the II Educational Robotics Festival in 2023, was replicated this year in various educational institutions of the UGEL Yunguyo, whose technical team visited Chucuito to learn first-hand about the strategies and achievements.
The development of these laboratories has been possible thanks to the collaboration between the UGEL Chucuito and the municipalities of Chucuito and Pisacoma, which have become key partners for education in the region.
The project is part of the Educational Management Community of Practice of the Ministry of Education, a space that facilitates the exchange of experiences and knowledge between specialists and managers of the DRE and UGEL so that these initiatives can be replicated in other similar contexts.
