๐ Tender Overview
Work is underway in the city's seven blind basins with the installation of geomembranes, geotextiles, a system of impulse lines and the Alternative System for the Collection and Evacuation of Rainwater (SARE), among other actions that are being carried out in the face of a possible global El Nino phenomenon. The work is more than 70% complete.
The Nursing Home blind basin registers 60% physical progress. Here, the geomembrane and drainage cells have been installed in the 4-meter-wide, 40-meter-long, and 4.4-meter-deep storm box. Currently, PVC-O 500 pipes are being placed that will help evacuate rainwater to the Sullana drain to prevent flooding. The storage of the Sare is 540 cubic meters.
In this critical sector of Piura, a hydraulic shaft will also be installed with a pumping system of five pumps, which will transport approximately 160 liters per second of water. Such equipment is expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
In the Urb. The Rosales, the geomembrane, the geotextile and the sand traps have already been placed in the underground pool or Sare system with a capacity of 1,800 cubic meters. The progress of the work is 50% and in the first week of February the motor pumps brought from abroad will be in our city.
In La Rinconada, work is being carried out on the supply line and the water table has been controlled. Next Thursday, the company in charge of the activity will proceed to place the geomembrane and geotextile blankets. The physical progress in this area is more than 60% and in the first week of February the electric pumps will arrive.
The Sare system to be built on site will be 2,250 cubic metres. In this way, water can be stored to evacuate it and prevent overflows and floods from affecting homes and the population.
In the El Golf basin, the storm pool has been built with a capacity to store 445 cubic meters of water, which will then be conducted with electric pumps and a drive line to the Piura River. In this sector, the company responsible has already installed the geomembrane, the geotextile and the sand traps.
At present, a total of 120 linear meters of pipes have been installed. In the first week of February, an electromechanical component will arrive from abroad that will be used to pump and transfer rainwater to the Piura River.
Meanwhile, in the 4 de Octubre blind basin, a storm pool of 1,350 cubic meters has been implemented and five motor pumps will be incorporated. This equipment will make it possible to transfer 800 litres per second of rainwater to the Cinco Esquinas sector, with the help of a 1,200 linear metre supply line.
The geomembranes with the geotextile layers will be placed in the coming days. In addition, excavations for the installation of the drive system are progressing.
In the 31 de Enero blind basin, district of Veintiseis de Octubre, the progress of mitigation activities reaches 67%. Excavation work on the 1800 cubic metre storm box and the removal of the water table are progressing considerably.
The construction and services company Rodema, in charge of the work, has carried out the cleaning of thedrain Sullana and has installed the drive system. The investment amount is more than 8 million soles and it is estimated that on January 25 the five motor pumps from abroad will arrive.
Finally, in Tres Culturas, the mitigation service consists of forming flood barriers on Ayacucho, Apurimac and Lima streets. This mechanism, of 60 cubic meters, will allow the water to be evacuated with five special motor pumps, each with 160 liters per second, to the Piura River. The progress of execution is more than 60%
It should be noted that the investment in the seven blind basins in charge of the Provincial Municipality of Piura (MPP) amounts to 67 million soles.
