On March 7 2023 Engineer Abel Sena Herrera Provincial Mayor of Andahuaylas met with Brigadier General Carlos Enrique Bojrquez Quiones Head of the National Geographic Institute IGN and the technical staff of the Geospatial Information Directorate in order to coordinate the elaboration of the Official Basic Cartography on the scale 125 000 of the department of Apurmac through the signing of an inter-institutional cooperation agreement.During the meeting the mayor expressed the great need to have the basic cartography of the department of Apurmac at a scale of 125 000 because to materialize the multiple projects they have planned it is required to have an official document that provides information on the Apurimeo territory in greater detail since currently they only have cartography at a scale of 1100000 which does not respond to needs because the level of generalization of the scale does not represent the geographical entities with the required level of detail.For his part the Head of IGN expressed his willingness to carry out the signing of the aforementioned agreement mentioning the signing of the agreement that was made years ago with the Regional Government of Huancavelica which allowed to provide this region with its cartography at a scale of 125 000 for the purpose of developing this town.Finally both authorities agreed that preliminary coordination should be carried out using the available virtual means and then proceed to the signing of the aforementioned inter-institutional cooperation agreement.
