The Hydrocarbon Registry was suspended at three stations that did not comply with safety standards100% of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Charging Stations were supervised by Osinergmin, between May 24 and 27, as part of the mega-operation that the institution carries out to verify their safety conditions for the benefit of citizens. CNG filling stations are used to fill natural gas transport units and thus supply this fuel to different areas of the country.
There were a total of 18 stations, three of which are in Ica, one in Piura, eleven in Lima and three in Callao. During the interventions, Osinergmin inspectors inspected the natural gas facilities and safety mechanisms required by current regulations in the hydrocarbon sector. As a result of the mega-operation, Osinergmin suspended the Hydrocarbon Registry of three loading stations because non-compliance was detected that did not allow safe operation.
The mega-operation deployed by Osinergmin continues throughout the country, now focusing on the inspection of CNG transport units and service stations with Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV). It is important to note that, between 2020 and 2024, the entitys supervisory force was strengthened, with 80 specialists and 400 supervisors, deployed in 25 Regional Offices, who verify compliance with the technical and safety conditions of the mining energy sector in all the regions.
Between 2020 and 2024, Osinergmin carried out a total of 167,400 inspections at taps, direct consumers, gas sales premises, and fuel transportation to verify compliance with technical, quality, quantity, and commercial standards.
