According to Plan No. 3115/KH-BHXH, from September 1, 2026, Vietnam Social Insurance begins the data conversion and operation phase of using personal identification numbers/citizen identification numbers (DDCN/CCCD) to replace social insurance codes on professional software. This is a change in the identification method on the system, does not change the participation process, payment - benefit data, card usage value as well as health insurance medical examination and treatment benefits of participants, including students. The conversion process is carried out according to the roadmap, ensuring that transaction history data, participation and benefit process and electronic records that have arisen are fully inherited; does not give rise to administrative procedures just due to changing the identification code. In cases where ID/CCCD information is complete, accurate and authenticated with the National Population Database, the system makes the conversion according to the roadmap. Step 2: Enter complete and accurate information as required by the system. In the field Social insurance code/health insurance card, users can enter the social insurance code/health insurance card or IDCN/CCCD number to look up; In case of using DDCN/CCCD number, the information must be synchronized and authenticated with the National Population Database. Next, enter your full name, date/year of birth according to the registered information. Step 3: Check the box I am not a robot, then select Look up. If the information entered is correct, the system will return the search results. Step 4: Check the displayed results, including main information such as card code, full name, date of birth, place of initial health care registration, card expiration/use value and time of 5 consecutive years. After the school has completed paying health insurance for the new school year, parents and students should check the card value again; If the information has not been updated or is not accurate, contact the school or social insurance agency to check and support. Other channels to check and use health insurance information: Via VssID application - Social insurance number: Log in to VssID application, select Health insurance card to check information, value of use and health insurance benefits. Via VNeID application: In case health insurance information has been integrated, users log in to VNeID, go to Document Wallet, select Health Insurance Card to view information. Through the Customer Care Hotline of Vietnam Social Security: Call 1900 9068 and provide information according to instructions for search support. Vietnam Social Security recommends that parents and students proactively look up the value of using health insurance cards, especially after completing the payment of health insurance for the new school year; At the same time, ensure that DDCN/CCCD information is declared fully and accurately.
