Rescheduled Closure Scheduled Tender

For Immediate Release: Friday, Sept. 4, 2026Contact:Harry Johnston, Sioux Falls Area Engineer, 605-367-5680CANTON, S.D. - Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, a closure is scheduled on S.D. Highway 11 near Canton for replacement of the railroad crossing one-half mile north of U.S. Highway 18. Weather dependent, the railroad crossing improvements are anticipated to be complete and Highway 11 reopened later in the week.Traffic Detour Options:There will be signed detours on Highway 11 and Highway 18 directing traffic to use Lincoln County Highway 116 west to S.D. Highway 115 or east to Lincoln County Highway 135.
