Rosatom Has Completed Tender

At the site of the Akkuyu NPP (Turkey being built by the state corporation Rosatom) equipment for an automated process control system (APCS) for power unit No. 1 was supplied. It was manufactured by the Joint Stock Company Rosatom Automated Control Systems (JSC RASU division APCS and Electrical Engineering of the state corporation Rosatom). The system provides control and management of all the main parameters of the reactor plant as well as the stations technological processes.
The delivery consisted of 42 thousand pieces of equipment with a total weight of 555 tons. It included control cabinets controllers computing modules and auxiliary components necessary for the operation of automated process control systems and the reactor protection control system. Installation and commissioning of automated process control system equipment will serve as one of the key stages on the path to commissioning of the first power unit.
Technological processes at nuclear power plants require the coordinated work of dozens of main and auxiliary systems and units. This is possible thanks to a high degree of automation allowing a small number of operating personnel to effectively operate a nuclear power plant. Automated control systems for nuclear power plants are a comprehensive technical and software solution that provides automation of basic technological operations in power unit systems. Modern units with VVER-1200 reactors are equipped with the latest automated process control components. They are developed based on many years of experience in the Russian nuclear industry ensuring a high degree of operational safety. Now highly qualified specialists are completing the installation and commissioning of automated process control equipment and its integration with the infrastructure of the first power unit noted Sergei Butskikh General Director of Akkuyu Nuclear JSC.
To date the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP has installed most of the control and safety systems necessary to begin the full connection of the units systems and their subsequent thorough check which will be carried out as part of the key stage of putting the unit into operation - cold-hot run-in of the reactor plant.

Akkuyu NPP is the first nuclear power plant in the Republic of Turkey being built by the state corporation Rosatom.
