How the Grodno airport is preparing for the resumption of regular flights and what kind of renewal the air harbor is going through, a BELTA correspondent was told at the Grodno branch of Belaeronavigatsiya. The development of Grodno airport is a systematic and continuous process.In 2025, a set of planned works on routine repairs of airfield pavements was completed.The asphalt concrete pavement of the side safety strip and end reinforced sections of the artificial runway was repaired - the work area amounted to more than 8.5 thousand sq.m.Planned routine repairs of individual sections of the concrete pavement of the artificial runway have been carried out. A comprehensive modernization of the airport is currently ongoing, including updating radio equipment.Design and estimate documentation for the reconstruction of the airports landing system has been developed, and equipment has been purchased, the branch noted.It will work to receive aircraft at the airport even under unfavorable conditions. We not only maintain the airfield infrastructure in perfect technical condition, but are also actively updating our workforce: young specialists and graduates of the Belarusian Civil Aviation Academy joined our team this year, the branch said. In parallel, the development of the route network and negotiations with air carriers on popular destinations continue.First of all, the directions of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad are being considered. Today, the airport is doing everything to soon be 100% ready to serve regular flights. As for the specific dates for the launch of flights, they will be announced immediately upon completion of all economic and organizational procedures, the branch noted.
