Zamil Steel has been awarded a contract by Arnaout Contracting Establishment ARCON for the design fabrication and supply of more than 5000 metric tons of pre-engineered steel buildings for an integrated onshore rig for National Oilwell Varco NOV in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia.Located in Ras Al-Khair near Jubail Industrial City on the Kingdoms east coast the new facility is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and National Oilwell Varco NOV and will have a capacity to manufacture ten onshore rigs per year.The joint venture facility is expected to serve as a major hub for high specification drilling rigs and will offer repair services and recertification for a large portfolio of equipment. The manufacturing facility will also be equipped to deliver drilling packages for offshore jack-up rigs.
