On May 16, 2024, Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong met with Soleimani, Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sierra Leone, who was in China to hold consultations on United Nations Security Council affairs.
Chen Xiaodong said that China-Serbia friendship has a long history and China-Serbia relations can be regarded as a model of unity and cooperation between China and Africa. China is willing to work with Serbia to implement the results of President Bio's visit to China and push the China-Serbia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new level. China once again congratulates Serbia on its election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council from 2024 to 2025, and is willing to further strengthen coordination and cooperation with Serbia on international platforms such as the Security Council to jointly promote world peace and development.
Soleimani said that Serbia attaches great importance to developing relations with China and appreciates China's strong support for Serbia's national development. Serbia is willing to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation in various fields with China and inject new impetus into the traditional friendship between Serbia and China.
