Honourable Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today.
The President highlighted the close friendship between the Maldives and Pakistan and the strong ties between the parliaments of the two countries. Speaker Sadiq extended a warm welcome on behalf of the citizens and Members of Parliament of Pakistan, expressing his delight at receiving the President after such a long time.
The President noted that the visit was aimed at elevating bilateral ties to greater heights, describing Pakistan as an important development partner of the Maldives.
The President and First Lady are currently undertaking a State Visit to Pakistan from 20th to 22nd October 2026, at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
