We are delivering more and better homes for Victorians who need them mostThere will be no reduction in social housing on the North Richmond Housing EstateWhen the Labor Government announced that we were committed to redeveloping the 44 public highrise towers across inner Melbourne providing residents with brand new homes we committed to at least a 10 uplift in social housing on these estatesThat remains the caseWe have already built 144 new social homes under the Big Housing Build on the site opposite the highrise estate in Elizabeth StreetIn addition Homes Victoria has made an application to Housing Australia for funding to build an additional 187 social homes on the same side of Elizabeth StreetThere are no plans to sell land on the North Richmond Housing EstateWe have completed or are currently delivering more than 15000 social homes to meet the housing needs of our most vulnerable community membersThe delivery of new social housing will continue as part of our highrise estate redevelopment program
