Syria once again called on the UN Security Council to stand up against the crimes and attacks committed by the so-called international coalition led by the United States against innocent civilians and to carry out an international investigation of these crimes and to condemn them immediately and stop their recurrence and end the aggressive presence of American and other foreign forces on Syrian territory.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in letters addressed to both the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council on the bombing of aircraft belonging to the so-called international coalition led by the United States on a camp for civilians in the village of Al-Bagouz rural south-east Deir Ezzor The United States-led illegal international coalition which held its last meeting in Washington a few days ago committed a new crime against innocent Syrian civilians after its military aircraft on February 12 2019 targeted a civilian camp in the village of Al-Bagouz It is terrible that at least 70 civilians most of them women and children have been killed and injured and homes and property have been severely damaged.The ministry said that this crime comes less than 24 hours after the crime in the same town carried out by the aircraft coalition which led to the deaths of 24 civilians mostly children raising the number of martyrs and wounded in the two neighborhoods to 94 civilians.The ministry added that the attacks by the International Coalition on innocent civilians and the use of internationally banned weapons against the Syrian people have become systematic and deliberate in flagrant violation of the rules of international law international humanitarian law and human rights instruments. This new crime constitutes a link in the series of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Which it commits against the Syrian people including its continued support of terrorism and its use by terrorists and separatist militias for the purpose of its aggressive designs and plans aimed at the sovereignty unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.The Syrian Arab Republic calls upon the countries involved in this alliance to reconsider their participation in its aggressive actions against Syria and its ongoing crimes against the Syrian people and to emerge from the melting pot of American political and economic pressure and to respect the provisions of international law and the Charter of the United Nations The violation of the sovereignty of States and the three basic principles of international humanitarian law based on discrimination proportionality and caution.The Syrian Arab Republic again calls upon the Security Council to stand up against these crimes and attacks and to shoulder its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security conducting an international investigation of these crimes condemning them and taking immediate action to stop them prevent them from repeating them and end the aggressive presence of US and other foreign forces And to prevent it from carrying out its plans to undermine the unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic contrary to the resolutions of the Security Council and all United Nations organs.
