π Tender Overview
Regarding the progress of the second phase of Taipowers offshore wind power, Taipower said today (30th) that the land and maritime projects of the second phase of the offshore wind power project, including 31 underwater foundations, 3 output submarine cables and 34 array submarine cables, have all been completed. There are still 30 wind turbines to be installed, and the overall progress is over 90% complete. At present, manufacturers have mobilized to carry out pre-installation work of wind turbines, with the goal of completing grid connection this year.
Taipower explained that the contractor for the second phase of the offshore project is Fuwei Energy. Since the wind turbine installation contract between the original wind turbine manufacturer Vestas and Fuwei has been terminated, through active coordination by Taipower, Taipower has now taken over the wind turbine installation matters in accordance with the contract and has completed the agreement with Vestas. The installation costs will be included in the total contract price between Taipower and Fuwei. Vestas will be responsible for the wind turbine installation and labor technical work in the future, while Fuwei still has to provide ships, warehousing and other services required for wind turbine installation.
