The Minister of Social Development Martn Lema referred to the main projects that the state portfolio will develop to reinforce the response in terms of mental health. The implementation of the Ni Silencio Ni Tab program for adolescents and the incorporation of 455 places in specialized 24-hour centers for people living on the streets and graduates of the penitentiary system are some of the actions.Mental health is the first step to personal freedom and the way to relate in the workplace family or in different social spaces said Lema this Thursday 30 in dialogue with Presidential Communication. She added that for the Ministry of Social Development Mides the treatment and implementation of initiatives that provide a greater response is a priority.In this sense he specified that during 2022 the Ni Silencio Ni Tab campaign developed by the National Youth Institute INJU and focused on the prevention of suicides and mental health in adolescents held 460 workshops and coordinated the participation of more than 14100 people. He explained that due to its success it will become in 2023 a program considered within the permanent actions of Mides.We are with absolute determination to address the issue of mental health and addictions in people living on the streets and in those who have recovered their freedom he said. In this regard he informed that 455 places will be generated in 24-hour care centers specialized in the care of these pathologies. In the same way he pointed out that 220 places will be available in day centers and 120 in outpatient points.As he explained the 2020 census recorded that 54 of people who slept outdoors had at some point been deprived of liberty. On this aspect he considered that in order to prevent the street situation it is necessary to attend to and deepen the measures.In addition he indicated that it is planned to unify criteria with the Ministry of Public Health to deepen the actions in a coordinated manner.
