President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the Khorezm Advanced Vocational Technical School in Urganch and the activities of the Vocational Town established on its territory.
In our country, special attention is paid to the training of middle-level specialists with modern knowledge and practical skills that meet the requirements of the labor market. In this regard, systematic work is being carried out to harmonize professional education with the needs of employers, introduce advanced foreign experience and expand dual education.
The Khorezm Technical College of Advanced Vocational Skills, established in Urganch, serves these purposes. 72.4 billion soums have been allocated from the state budget for the establishment of the institution. Two educational buildings for 1 thousand 100 seats, a dormitory with 300 seats, a sports hall, a kitchen with 200 seats and two modernly equipped educational workshops were built on the 5.2-hectare area.
Training is based on the advanced educational programs of Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, China and South Korea. The dual education system allows connecting theoretical knowledge with direct production practice.
For the academic year 2026-2027, 200 talented young people in 11 professions were selected based on the exam. The educational process is organized in cooperation with employers, and special attention is paid to the employment of graduates in the profession they have acquired.
Technikum serves as a modern practical base for other professional educational institutions in Khorezm region. About 4 thousand 300 students of educational institutions of the region will practice in workshops and laboratories here. It is planned to gradually establish such technical schools of advanced professional skills in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and other regions.
The head of our state also inspected the town of Kasblar on the territory of the institution. Conditions have been created here for early identification of the interest and abilities of young people, and for directing them to certain professions.
In the Vocational Town, based on the Do it yourself principle, students work directly with various modern equipment and develop practical skills. Areas of high demand in the labor market, such as transport and logistics, industry and construction, service, agriculture and green energy, are covered.
The complex operates in cooperation with large employing enterprises. It serves to form a single system, from guiding young people to the profession, to providing them with practical skills and ensuring their future employment.
The President emphasized the importance of quality training of young people in the professions demanded by the modern labor market, adapting educational programs to the needs of employers, and expanding such experience in other regions as well.
