Project Description
EBRD invested EUR 30 million in CRR-compliant Additional Tier 1 ("AT1") capital issued by Banca Transilvania ("BT") in bond format totalling EUR 500 million, listed on the Dublin Euronext Stock Exchange. The bonds are perpetual, with a call option after 5 years.

Project Objectives
The Project supports the inaugural AT1 public issuance by a Romanian bank and contributes to the resilience of the Romanian financial sector by strengthening the resilience of the largest systemic bank in the country through a stable capital base and enhanced loss absorption capacity ensuring the continuous flow of credit to the Romanian economy.
