Chennai Metro Phase Tender

Objective and Summary The project will meet the growing traffic demand by constructing a mass rapid transit system from the center of Chennai in the southern state of Tamil Nadu to the suburbs mitigating the traffic congestion and reducing traffic pollution toward regional development and an improved urban environment. Japanese technology will be utilized in equipment provided for the project such as tunnel boring machines elevators escalators rails signaling systems automated fare collection systems platform screen doors half-height and rolling stock.Planned Implementation Schedule 1.
