PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Background:
Bangladesh's rapid population and economic growth is leading
to a steadily increasing energy demand. At the same time, the
Bangladeshi government aims to transform the energy sector and expand climate-friendly energy solutions. However,
the supply of skilled workers and their training is insufficient and represents a significant barrier to the national energy transition. Bangladesh must therefore improve its education and training in the energy sector and align it more closely with labor market needs. Well-trained professionals can improve the investment climate and competitiveness of companies working on climate-friendly energy solutions in the medium to long term. In this way, qualified professionals contribute to a successful energy transition in Bangladesh . Objective: Education and training in energy efficiency and renewable energies will be improved in quality and aligned with labor market demand. Approach: This project supports the Bangladeshi government in reforming and expanding its education and training offerings for climate-friendly energy solutions . It promotes dialogue and cooperation between those responsible in the energy and education sectors, as well as other relevant public and private stakeholders. The project collaborates closely with the private sector to align its training programs with labor market needs. For example, it develops practice-oriented modules for in-house training and professional development programs in partnership with vocational schools and companies. The project also advises the relevant ministry and vocational schools on developing and certifying curricula, training teachers ,
