Scope : Construction of Handia Barrage, Power House and piped irrigation system in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh
Narmada Valley Development Authority has invited bids for construction of Handia Barrage in Madhya Pradesh.
The scope of work includes construction operation and maintenance of Handia Barrage, power house and piped irrigation system along with all ancillary work including management, operation and maintenance for 60 months as per detailed scope of work.
The estimated value of the work is Rs 1,193.42 crore with completion period of 72 months.
The scope of the project involves the construction of a powerhouse for 25 MW (8.33 MW x 3) with all ancillary works, piped irrigation system to supply water through a pressurised pipeline system for micro-irrigation (drip/sprinkler) to deliver to farmers' fields with a duty of 0.36 ltr per sec per hectare, OMS at 20 hectare chak with ten times duty from 20 hectare to 2.5 hectare chak with at least 23 mtr.
In November 2022, Karan Development Services was awarded the contract by the NVDA for approx. Rs 1160.83 crore.
Furthermore, NVDA has applied to the state environment impact assessment authority (SEIAA) for terms of reference (TOR) for the project's EIA/EMP report.
Work on the project is expected to begin in Q2/FY24, with completion scheduled for August 2027.
