Scope : To Set up Dairy Manufacturing Plant at Mohali Industrial Economic Zone (MIEZ) in Chandigarh
Mohali Industrial Economic Zone (MIEZ) has announced that Gopal’s Sweets, the biggest dairy products brand in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, will set up a manufacturing unit there. The company has invested approximately Rs 150 crore in the project.
Gopal’s Sweets, a leading dairy products brand in the northern states, has chosen MIEZ for its central location and logistical advantages. According to Sharanjit Singh, Managing Director of Gopal’s Sweets, the zone's proximity to major transport hubs like an International Airport, the largest Railway Junction of the region, and the Dry Port of Shambhu barrier was pivotal in their decision. The new facility, set to be the biggest in the region for manufacturing sweets, snacks, bakery, and other dairy products, aligns with the company's need for a strategically placed manufacturing hub to meet the perishable nature of their products efficiently.
This plant, approved by the Ministry of Food Processing, Government of India, will eliminate the need for Punjab's farm produce to be sent to Uttarakhand for processing, providing substantial benefits to local farmers and food producers.
