The goal of the Dairy Value Chains Development Project II (DVCDP II) is to enhance the incomes and livelihoods of small-scale dairy producers, ensuring a competitive and sustainable dairy value chain. This aligns with the first and second strategic objectives of the country strategic opportunities programme (COSOP) for 2023–2027: increased resilience and productivity of small-scale producers, and improved access for small-scale producers to viable food systems and agricultural markets.

Approximately 31,000 households in the five regions benefit from the project, including 40 per cent women and 30 per cent youth.

The project comprises the following components:

Improving sustainable dairy production and access to services.

Increasing participation of small-scale farmers in the dairy value chain.
