Scope of Work:
Development and Expansion of the National Power Grid in Jordan.

Description:
The study will be implemented by Belgian electricity system operator Elia and funded by Germany as part of a German-Jordanian energy partnership. The power grid needs to be expanded in order to enable the exploitation of more renewable energy, reduce electricity losses and find suitable energy storage solutions. Renewable energy now accounts for about 25% of electricity generation in Jordan and the target is to reach 50% by 2030. The project plays a key role in advancing the kingdom's economy as it would attract more investments and create jobs.
