Project Summary
This project continues our 2024 PPSTI-funded initiative, aligning with the APECโs Putrajaya Vision 2040, the Aotearoa Plan of Action, and the APEC 2025 theme Connect, Innovate, Prosper. It aims to leverage advanced technologies, particularly large language models (LLMs) to address healthcare disparities across APEC economies. The initiative fosters collaboration among healthcare professionals, AI experts, data scientists, and policymakers, creating a forum for voluntary knowledge exchange. We will closely collaborate with HWG and DESG to ensure the initiative's success. The 2-day Forum in Beijing on 29-30 August 2026 will include Showcase, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops designed to generate actionable insights. It will facilitate informal networking sessions among diverse stakeholders, essential for improving healthcare delivery and addressing access and quality disparities in the APEC region. The expected outcome is to assess the benefits for integration of LLM technologies into healthcare systems, promote the dissemination of knowledge, and advocate for the adoption of technologies-including LLMs to ensure equal access to services, and address the challenges in healthcare in the APEC region.
