Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL)
EURIDICE contributes to all four Digital Skills Call objectives, by developing and launching a set of related international, highly interdisciplinary and innovative, educational programmes that bring current EU digital expert education to new levels of quality and quantity. First, EURIDICE designs and implements a new EU Joint Master degree with a highly interdisciplinary and research-oriented programme of 120 ECTS called Digital Society, Social Innovation and Global Citizenship. This international programme has a capacity of 300 master students per year. Second, it realizes teaching capacity building through self-standing modules for the EURIDICE Academic Teacher programme, with a capacity of over 50 academic teachers per year. This is a highly significant multiplier as each individual academic teacher educated in our programme will be able to teach at least 25 master students in the future (so 750 master students per year ultimately). Third, we develop an associated Professional Life-Long Learning programme oriented at professionals and executives at work. This has a capacity of over 750 professionals and executives per year. Fourth, EURIDICE makes possible further scale-up by opening up its international master course modules also for uptake in other master studies, e.g., in national languages (Czech, Slovak, Portuguese, Spanish, Ukrainian). This more than doubles the number of European master students benefiting from the EURIDICE digital education programme. EURIDICE undertakes to build the social innovators of the future with advanced digital technologies, with an emphasis on the societally highly influential sectors of Education, Communication, and Culture. The skills needs of such social digital innovators cross disciplines. One cannot properly contribute to digital innovation, we believe, if one has either a purely technical understanding of digital technology, or in contrast a purely non-technical non-ICT disciplinary view on things. In the EURIDICE approach, students acquire core technical and engineering knowledge and hands-on experience regarding advanced digital technologies, by following an Informatics-oriented track of advanced digital technology and engineering (esp. AI, ML, Data Science, Cybersecurity), tailored to students with non-ICT backgrounds. But secondly, advanced digital technologies impact society in various fundamental ways, and this calls for contributions, perspectives, and analyses of digital challenge themes by other disciplines (in particular: legal, humanities, social science, business/economics). This is what EURIDICE is going to provide. Importantly, all EURIDICE course modules (for master students, teachers, and professionals) will be designed and delivered as Microcredentials, in accordance with the recently (2021/2022) established EU standards and guidelines. Here, EURIDICE will establish it
