Project Description
Grupo Farinter Internacional S.R.L. ( Farinter or the Group ) is a family-owned, private company headquartered in Honduras engaged in the distribution and retail of pharmaceutical and consumer products. Farinter has presence across the region with distribution centers and pharmacy stores in Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Panama.
IFC proposes to provide a long-term loan to finance its strategic plan which includes (i) the acquisition of companies in the pharmaceutical sector in Central America; and (ii) the construction of two new distribution centers in Honduras and Nicaragua. The IFC loan will be disbursed to Farinter’s subsidiaries in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Costa Rica (jointly the Co-Borrowers ).
Associated Advisory Engagement
Farinter has expressed interest in certifying the two new distribution centers under the EDGE green building standard and further collaborate with IFC with the implementation of Corporate Governance Advisory Services.
