Scope : To Build new Ghaziabad Township 'Harnandipuram' in Uttar Pradesh
The UP government has announced plans to build a new township as part of its city expansion initiative, marking the first such project in 15 years. The township, named βHarnandipuramβ (with βHarnandiβ being another name for the Hindon river), will span approximately 1,300 acres, comparable to the size of Indirapuram.
Previously, the name Harnandi was proposed by the municipal corporation to rename the city to Harnandi Nagar. The map of the new township was vetted at the GDA Boardβs meeting. It will span from Pipeline Road in the north to Northern Peripheral Road in the east and Morti in the south, with parts of the Hindon river flowing through the township. If approved, this will be the first township built by GDA since Madhuban Bapudham, 15 years ago.
