PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Background:
The Ecuadorian government is taking targeted action against corruption. The National Development Plan 2024-2025 sets goals for incorruptibility, transparency, accountability, and citizen participation. Furthermore, the government adheres to international agreements in these areas and has developed corresponding laws and strategies. The central challenges lie in the government's inability to fulfill its responsibilities and the lack of trust in the state. Inefficient public services and a weakened rule of law also contribute to this.
Objective:
Governmental and non-governmental organizations implement measures to improve citizens' trust in the state.
Approach:
The project further develops governance in Ecuador. It operates nationwide but focuses on eight regions. It collaborates with political decision-makers, businesses, opinion leaders, experts, public administration employees, civil society, and academia.
Among other things, the project implements the following measures:
1. It improves public services that are in demand by the population or that have a positive impact on businesses.
2. It develops instruments that promote public integrity, such as plans to manage corruption risks. It also supports companies in improving accountability, due diligence, and integrity.
3. It creates instruments that promote transparency, access to information, accountability, citizen participation, and the implementation of an integrity system in Ecuador.
