Hanoi Second Greenfield Tender

Scope Construction of a greenfield airport in Hanoi.Ministry of Transportation to consider a second airport agreement for the Hanoi metropolitan area. The Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture has proposed that municipal authorities consider the planning of Hanois second international airport in the southern district of Ung Hoa and add it to the planning of Vietnams airports in the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050.However the Department of Planning and Architecture also mentioned the disadvantage of the plan the existence of the 500KV Thuong Tin to Nho Quan power transmission line.Minister of Transport suggested other locations including Thanh Mien District in the northern province of Hai Duong or Tien Lang District in the port city of Haiphong. The Ministry of Transport MoT will study an additional airport after 2030 depending on the real socio-economic development situation the recovery and the development of the air transport network.Haiphong City Peoples Committee asked the MoT to consider choosing Tien Lang as the location for the second airport of Hanoi. Tien Lang in Haiphong City should be the second airport of the capital region. If it is allowed it will also help reduce the overload at Cat Bi Airport.Project to start by 2035 depending on traffic development.
