π Tender Overview
The project addresses the construction of berth no. 12 and Ro-Ro berth in the core port of Koper as well as the completion of preparatory studies and construction of the 1.4 km long last mile connection from the port's Sermin entrance to the motorway A1. The project is located on the Baltic-Adriatic and Mediterranean Core Network Corridors. It is part of a Global Project covering the expansion of the port of Koper. The traffic at the port of Koper is growing steadily and is close to exceeding the port's capacity for both civilian freight transport and military movements. Due to the increasing volume of freight transport and the need to facilitate the movement of military vehicles and equipment, it is necessary to expand and upgrade the basic port infrastructure and to improve the port's connection to the existing motorway infrastructure. The objective of the project is to improve the maritime and land accessibility of the port of Koper to handle a larger volume of goods and military movements. The project complies with the following seaports and roads dual-use requirements and their values as defined in the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1328: βBerth length , βPort berth type , βOffloading capabilities , βRoad classification and Road gross weights .
