To develop disaster resilient arterial roads and stimulate inclusive growth in hill areas of Assam. This will be supported by: A. Re construction and improvement of climate vulnerable road infrastructure i. Reconstruction/construction and improvement of about 300 k m of climate resilient arterial roads. ii. Improving drainage, slope protection works and rehabilitation of damaged road sections. B . Building resilience and early warning system i. Resilience Undertaking a network and multimodal level climate and disaster vulner ability assessment. ii. Establishing a control center for early warning and quick response disaster management system, equipped with trained personnel, equipment and latest technology. iii. Building institutional capacity to effectively manage the fragile disaste r-prone road network. C. Developing basic road-side amenities stimulating trade, tourism and MSME growth.
