The project of Introduction and strengthening of the capacities of the population in the manufacture and use of improved stoves once implemented, will contribute enormously to the reduction of firewood used in households. The reduction in the volume of wood used would contribute to the reduction of deforestation and the increase of forest cover of the landscape and consequently reduce the degradation of soils and fish breeding areas in Lake Tanganyika which constitute a pillar of the daily life and development of the Mugere-Nyamusenyi landscape populations.
