Scope :

The Kinyerezi III Power Plant is a 600MW thermal power project located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It is being developed by Shangtan Power Generation. The project is currently in permitting stage. The project is expected to enter commercial operation in 2027. The project is owned by Tanzania Electric Supply; Shanghai Electric Power.

Description

The project is being developed by Shangtan Power Generation. Shanghai Electric Power and Tanzania Electric Supply are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60% and 40% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2026. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2027.

Contractors involved

China Machinery Engineering is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.
