PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Background:
Due to population growth, Mozambique's education and training system needs to adapt. Half the population is under 17 years old. The quality of vocational training and job placement is inadequate, and access to employment and entrepreneurship is difficult.
The Mozambican government aims to realign the vocational training system to meet the needs of businesses and key sectors for development and the green transition, such as agriculture, renewable energy, transport, and logistics.
Goal:
Employment and business development will be supported by a vocational training and employment system that is labor market-oriented, collaborates with businesses, and imparts technical expertise.
Approach:
The project addresses several areas:
- It advises the government on strategies and policies for labor market-oriented vocational training and for improved coordination between policymakers, businesses, and international partners.
- It establishes a center for practical teacher training at the Vocational Training Institute in Beira.
- It collaborates with vocational training institutions, businesses, and employment agencies in several provinces to promote skills development and the transition to employment โ ??especially for women.
It further develops the dual vocational training approach, which alternates between classroom learning and practical phases in companies.
The project is commissioned by the German Federal
