Scope :
Lungreng is an 815MW hydro power project. It is planned on Tyao/Kolodyne river/basin in Mizoram, India.
It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2025 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2029. The project is being developed and currently owned by North Eastern Electric Power. The project is being developed and currently owned by North Eastern Electric Power.
Lungreng is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 1,029.95 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 265m and 219.67m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 5 in number. The penstock length will be 625m. The penstock diameter will be 5.4m. The project is expected to generate 1,169.06 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $1,169.158m.
The hydro power project consists of 5 turbines, each with 163MW nameplate capacity. The project has 5 electric generators that will be installed at the project site.
Development Status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2025. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2029.
Contractors Involved
North Eastern Electric Power is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the hydro power project.
