Scope The railway expansion in 2035 aims to remove the bottlenecks in the rail network - in passenger transport these are the Arc lmanique Zurich and Bern areas. In particular the sections Geneva Lausanne Yverdon Bern Thun Solothurn Olten Zurich Winterthur and Zurich-Zug-Rotkreuz are overloaded. To this end Parliament approved a total package of around CHF 13 billion in 2019.The rail line expansion between Zurich and Winterthur aims to increase rail traffic capacity by 30. INGE LED is responsible for general planning from the preliminary design phase through to construction. Section 1 comprises the perimeter between the Winterthur rail station and the portal of the Brttener tunnel some 3 km of track. Core elements of this section are the Neumhle overpass the Storchen underpass and an upgrade of the Tss rail station.
